Common questions.

The questions travelers ask us most. Don’t see yours? Drop us a note — we’ll add it.

01 · Booking & payment
How far in advance should I book?
Sundarbans tours during peak season (November–February) tend to fill three to four months ahead. For everything else, six weeks is usually fine. We’ll always tell you honestly what’s realistic for your dates.
What’s the deposit?
Twenty percent at booking, with the balance due thirty days before departure. We accept bank transfer, bKash, Nagad, and international cards through SSLCommerz.
Do you offer refunds?
Full refund up to 60 days before. Partial after that, scaled to how much we’ve already paid host families on your behalf. We publish the schedule on every invoice.
02 · On the trip
How big are the groups?
We cap at twelve travelers and most trips run with six to eight. We don’t combine private groups without asking first.
What level of fitness do I need?
Most journeys are easy. The Chittagong Hill Tracts and the longer Sundarbans walks ask for moderate fitness — comfortable walking five to seven kilometres on uneven ground. We’ll flag the demanding parts ahead of time.
Are the trips suitable for solo travelers?
Yes — about a third of our travelers come solo. The single supplement is modest because we don’t mark it up; it covers the actual cost of a single room.
Will there be other people from my country?
Sometimes, but not always. Our travelers come from forty-plus countries. We don’t curate by nationality.
03 · Practicalities
Do I need a visa?
Most nationalities need a visa to enter Bangladesh. We can send a letter of invitation to support your application — just ask.
What about travel insurance?
We require it. Comprehensive insurance covering medical evacuation is non-negotiable for the more remote trips.
Is the food safe?
Yes. Our host families cook with bottled or filtered water, and we’re careful with the rest. Most travelers eat everything we eat with no issues.
Do I tip?
It’s appreciated but never expected. If you want to, the standard is the equivalent of US$5–10 per traveler per day for the guide, split however feels right.
